Since I was a child I was raised to go into a room and pray hard. My mother had designed and built our home from age 12 until I moved to collage. up with a prayer room. It was the size of a walk in closet large enough for a chair and a small table, with a window. It is so easy to forget how important prayers are. It’s our line of communication to God. God even tells us where we should be praying in the Bible.
5 “And when you come before God, don’t turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? 6 “Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. 7-8
“The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. For me when I do so I see doors open that were closed, and anointing that I have never felt before… If you don’t have a War room you need to get one. It doesn’t have to be a closet. For me it is my entire apartment. For one sister its her Kitchen, for my other sister its her car.. You make do with what you have… No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
